Testimonials

At age 27 I developed chronic upper right back, neck, shoulder and arm pain. I was treated by a team of top doctors from one of the most prestigious New York City hospitals, underwent many painful procedures, took a frightening cocktail of medication, and went faithfully to painful physical therapy. By age 29, I had only gotten worse.

I then desperately sought second opinions from other top doctors in Manhattan, but they had no new ideas. My hard-earned, successful legal career at a top law firm was allegedly part of the problem. At the advice of my doctors, I left the long, stressful hours at my firm and moved in-house to a shorter work day and less stress. However, I continued to worsen each month. As I approached my 30th birthday, two things happened. First, my pain spread to headaches and mirrored itself across the left side of my body. Second, I had to forgo a chance of becoming general counsel; a job that exceeded my dreams. I was too busy suffering from adverse drug interactions, weeks in bed with pain, days of working while in a mental fog from medication and pain, and hours in and out of doctors' offices. At this point, my doctors offered a very risky surgery. After two years of being treated for chronic pain throughout the upper right side of my body by a team of top doctors in New York City, my condition was still worsening. I was told my only remaining option was a highly risky surgery.

Unsatisfied with my options, I saw an ad for Dr. Kalika's unique European technique and walked into his office hoping beyond reason that he would be able to help me when all the others couldn't. My condition has been improving ever since. He is a remarkable doctor with a wealth of knowledge, tremendous skills, a vast resource of noninvasive and rare treatment techniques, and a seemingly innate sense of what causes pain. Apart from Dr. Kalika's tremendous medical skills, he has a gifted bedside manner. He understands the psychology of chronic pain, and the mental and emotional challenges of rehabilitation. While other doctors find cases like mine impossibly discouraging and give up or turn away, Dr. Kalika has a tireless confidence in his ability to heal. I am truly grateful to have found him. I wish others in my shoes find their way to him as well.

When I first started working with Dr. Kalika I was in excruciating pain, both in my lower back, which was as solid as a brick wall, and in my leg, which had a very tight hamstring. However, within a brief period of time Dr. Kalika and his staff helped reduce my pain, and enabled me to resume normal physical activities. Between the exercises, breathing techniques, physical manipulation, and state of the art equipment, the knowledge I acquired and progress was magnificent.

Everyone in the office treated me with respect and kindness. I was never kept waiting, or left in suspense as to what my actual ailment was. The goal was always to make me feel better, both physically and mentally.

I would highly recommend Dynamic Neuromuscular Rehabilitation to anyone who wants to improve their well being and prevent further injuries.

-Best regards, R. B.

I wanted to thank you for your professional services, diagnosis and follow-up regarding my hip injury. Prior to my visit to you,I saw numerous chiropractors and physical therapists trying to determine the cause of my severe groin pain without any success. You thorough physical examination and evaluation correctly diagnosed my hip fracture and joint damage which set me on the path to reconstructive surgery.

I especially appreciated your follow-up phone call expressing interest in my condition after I was in the care of my surgeon and no longer your patient.Your professionalism and care for my well being were greatly appreciated .

-Best regards, B. M. (former professional basketball player)

I have had extreme shoulder pain for two years before my left arm lost most function: For the extreme pain I took Ibuprofen regularly, and, although the pain was never eliminated, it was reduced a great deal. The loss of functionality , however, was much more difficult:I could no longer carry anything, I could not lift my arm past my waist, I could not brush my teeth, hook my bra,use the scissors and the list grew quickly.

My doctor had been aware of the pain and during the phase of little to no function she began to discuss surgery.

She wrote a referral and I was ready to make an appointment. In the interim ,an acquaintance gave me the information of Dr. Lev Kalika, the Neuromuscular Specialist , so that I could be treated for the pain.

The Neuromuscular treatment , which consists of sessions that combine intense physical therapy, kinesiology and strengthening exercises -one hour of hands on work!- began to relieve the pain within weeks. In 2-3 months I began to regain motion. I decided to delay the appointment with the surgeon and , of course, stopped the Ibuprofen altogether.

In six month of weekly sessions, I am able to raise my left arm straight up, I can do the breastroke in the swimming pool, I can carry a certain amount of weight, and, have occasional pain which is very much controllable. At this stage, I consider surgery unnecessary.

Dr. Kalika, I just want to thank you and your incredible team for helping me recoverandrun the NYC marathon for the 30th time this coming Nov. 7th. As you can see in the attached poster, the NYRRC had selected me as one of the runners in this year's marketing campaign. When I got injured in June and visited various Dr. with no improvement , I was referred to you, when I came in, I could hardly walk, never mind running. now I'm ready to tackle the NYC marathon for the 30th time! Thanks to Nick, Gregg, Sunny and Anna!! your team is great and thanks to "your incredible personal attention" to my injuries! I'm ready!!

You are a fabulous doctor and I always tell anyone who complains to me about pain that they should see you. I've seen many doctors (unfortunately! My back pain started at 19!) and you are truly in a league of your own way above the rest! I wish I could find drs for all my needs at your caliber.

Being a dancer with New York City Ballet we put our bodies through intense demands on a daily basis. After there years with the company, my body and my knees in particular began to degrade. With much hesitation I decided to undergo a bilateral knee repair on my patella tendon. After dancing hours everyday and performing to huge crowds nightly, it was devastating when I found myself unable to use my legs for nearly a month and a half. After the surgery I began a long and frustrating rehabilitation program, eventually coming back to dance with the same pain as before. After three rounds of a new blood injection, and over a year of disappointing results I found Dr. Kalika, through my colleges Robert Fairchild and Megan Lecrone. He came highly recommended and I know that dancers only expect and need the highest quality of care, so I quickly made an appointment. With utmost care and patience Dr. Kalika and his team, not only addressed my specific pain, but looked at the whole picture, carefully analyzing the complete story and pathology of my injury. With state of the art equipment including the diagnostic tool of an ultrasound machine (which is very helpful for figuring out and tracking the progress of an injury) I always leave feeling I have received a comprehensive session, gaining knowledge and insight. Never rushing to conclusions or simply offering quick fixes, Dr. Kalika has not only helped me feel better and get back to dancing, but has helped me understand why I got hurt in the first place.

Being a professional dancer, the health of my body is essential to my well being both professionally and personally. After years of dancing, I know the difference between good and bad physical therapy, and I can say confidently that Dr. Kalika and his staff go way above and beyond the usual treatment. Staying healthy despite the intense demands we put on our bodies daily, requires help, and I know I truly am in the best hands with Dr. Kalika and his staff.

I am a dancer with the New York City Ballet and one Dr. Kalika's patients. What makes his practice so outstanding is the care he shows to each and every patient. He has three therapists working with him to bring you the best care and most in depth analysis concerning your injury. His techniques and methods are brilliant and his collection of top of the line equipment is stunning. When I go into the office I always leave feeling better and with a greater knowledge of the human body and how I can use it with more and more efficiency. He's NY's best kept secret for sports rehabilitaion.

I have had right side pain for 4 Years!! Started at my neck, thoracic and shoulder then ran down through my hip and thigh. Dr. Kalika and his team are amazing - they are treating my symptoms and I am now FINALY on the road to recovery! For years I tried working with Doctors from the best hospitals in NYC. No-one could diagnose my problem and more importantly cure it. Dr. Kalika uses only the latest technology and spends a lot of time with you to work towards your goal of feeling healthy again. In the years past, I would have Doctor appointment after Doctor appointment then MRI after MRI all of which would come back okay - but he pain kept coming and the intensity got worse. Doctors write scripts for pain killers, muscle relaxers and Physical therapy. Pt was always a serious commitment and it NEVER got me anywhere. Most places put ice on you or some heat and mask the real root of your issue. Dr. Kalika takes the time to listen to you, he uses a combination of shock therapy, DNS, PT and massage. After my first visit I felt better, he is always honest about my road and commitment ahead - but I am improving daily and my overall posture and body are feeling the benefits. They are devoted to get you on the road to recovery. Dr. Kalika and his team are professional in every sense of the word. I highly recommend him. Stop struggling everyday.... go see him!!

Ive had back problems since age 18 and am now 29. A few times a year it would get so bad that I cannot walk because of the sharp pain and would have to take off from work for a week or 2, stay at home taking all kinds of pain relief medication, muscle relaxers, ant-inflammatory pills etc that other doctors in the past prescribed to me. That was their quick remedy to get paid;no intelligence involved and a waste of time. All other times throughout the years i am in pain but it's not as bad. I think I learned to live with the pain by now, so "not bad" pain to me really is "bad" pain to someone who hasn't experienced this before. Ive tried going to several different PT's, different back/spine/nerve specialists & chiropractors (the worst!) and was about to give up until a friend of mine recommended that I make an appointment with Lev Kalika and his team. From the first day I already knew that Lev and his team had the skills necessary to help me out. All other PT's and doctors that Ive gone to in the past told me the same story & put me on the same machines; I felt like they didn't care, they just want to get paid. At DNS, each appointment I made lasts well over an hour, sometimes 2 but it is well worth it because finally after a few sessions (and im still going) i can go about my day and am already diminishing the awful thought in my mind of having back pain all day every day because it is literally disappearing more and more each day. Everyone that works there will know what you feel and will know how to help you. Pain is pain and everyone feels it differently, these guys know how to find it, know how to attack it and will show you what you need to do each day to make a change for the better. I will recommend anyone i know to make an appt..

I cannot recommend Dr. Kalika highly enough. I feel lucky to have found him. I had terrible shoulder pain that radiated down my arm to my fingers and hand which caused my hand to go numb. I saw Dr Kalika for a few months and now I am pain free. He is wonderfully talented and has an amazing staff in his office.

I had a very positive experience working with Dr. Kalika and his team. I had been suffering from tennis elbow that was not responding to traditional therapies typically used to treat this condition. Dr. Kalika administeerd Shockwave Therapy in addition to teaching me exercises that really worked to heal my condition. He approaches the injury systemically, rather than just treating the symptom. He has a team of practitioners that work together to treat each individual according to their particular needs. I highly recommend Lev Kalika is exceptionally skilled and dedicated doctor, and his team of chiropractors with physical therapists is very knowledgeable to study in depth patients and look at the big picture rather than treating symptoms. His dedicated team spends close to 2 hours with me on each visit. Lev Kalika received his education in Europe and possess knowledge and dynamic techniques that none of the doctors in US know. His treatment helped me significantly with my TMJ and now I am working on restoring my neuromuscular balance.

Thank You Dr. Kalika and staff. My tennis elbow was not responding well to traditional treatment and your Shockwave Therapy and exercises have really helped with my recovery. I am very grateful for all that you've done for me. Margie Alley

Dear Dr LEV, I do appreciate your Diagnosis on my Neck Problem; I and most of my MD colleagues) have not recognized this problem for many years.
